Adoptions are available to members of M.A.R.R. and the general public.
Most of our animals have an adoption fee which helps to cover our operating expenses such as animal pickups, feeding, medical costs, housing, etc. Adoption fees may be negotiated if we feel it is in the animal's best interest. Donated caging and supplies are sometimes available for a small fee, and in cases some cases free of charge.
Once an animal has been rescued, we will list it on the web site, but it will not be immediately available for adoption. We need to first make sure that it is healthy, eating, and is good natured before we will even consider adopting it out. We usually observe them for about 2 weeks, but this varies on a per case basis.
There is no fee for submitting an adoption inquiry once an animal has been made available, and the adoption fee is only required if you adopt an animal.
Please be aware that while Wisconsin does not have a state level statute or regulation governing the issue of private ownership of exotic pets, your local county ordinance might. Check with your local agencies to determine if a permit is required prior to adopting the animal.
We ask that ALL potential adopters fill out our and mail or email it to us. We will not adopt to you unless we have this form on file. If mailing the form, be sure to send us an email so we know you are interested!
Sponsoring An Animal
If you are unable to adopt an animal but still wish to help, you can sponsor one of our animals. By clicking on the "sponsor me" graphic located by each animals description, you can make a one time donation in any denomination of your choosing. Your sponsorship will help the animal of your choosing and will be used for housing, cage accessories, medical costs, and other care related expenses. In addition, we will list your name as the animal's sponsor under their picture, along with your sponsor amount. Just let us know how you want to be listed (The Jones family, D. Jones, Dan Jones, Anonymous, etc.)
ALL LISTED PRICES ARE NEGOTIABLE UNDER PROPER CIRCUMSTANCES
